Hello wining friends!
How was your summer? Can you believe it’s pretty much over? My end-of-summer gift from the universe has been my first run-in with covid. Whoever said it was just like a bad cold was dead wrong. I spent 5 feverish days in bed, unable to sit upright or stand for more than 10 minutes at a time. On the bright side, I devoured a bunch of books and binge-watched a whole lot of TV. With all that time on my hands, I also came to realize that I missed interacting with you all on a regular basis. So expect to hear more from me this fall.
As the first day of fall approaches, looking back on my social media posts reveals that it really was a Summer of Rosé. I can’t say that I exclusively drank rosé these past few months, but you couldn’t tell by my pink-filled feed.
But the official end of summer doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom. Especially since Savvy Company is having an end of summer sale! Here are some of the amazing deals to be had on Ontario rosé:
Serenity Pinot Noir Rosé $10 (reg $16) - YES $10 a bottle!
Redtail Gamay Rosé $11.50 (reg $15)
Meldville Pinot Noir Rosé $20 (reg $22)
Drea Wines Rosado $22 (reg $30)
Rosehall Run Rosé of Pinot $24* (reg $28)
Queenston Mile Sparkling Rosé $30* (reg $35)

While you’re shopping, you may as well stock up on whites and reds (and more) while you’re at it. Here’s what I’ll be ordering! (some items may not be on sale but are still delicious)
Ev’s Eclectics Pear-vençal (Perry Rosé) ($6.50 for 355 mL)
A super fun, easy-drinking pear cider blended with syrah rosé.
Redtail Vineyards Gamay Rosé 2021 (on sale for $11.50!!)
This little number is the wine equivalent of your favourite summer dress: it's something you can slip on for any occasion and always makes you feel like a million bucks. 🤩
Verging on off-dry, it has gorgeous notes of strawberry, watermelon and lemon with nice, bright acidity and a soft strawberry finish. It's a wine that keeps you coming back for another sip...until the bottle is mysteriously empty.
Also, this low, low price is unheard of, so be sure to buy enough to last you through the winter!
The Old Tun Pinot Noir Sparkling Rosé 2020 ($12 for 500 mL)
Lovely wild strawberry notes on the nose. Super effervescent from being bottled with lees (the floaties are normal - it's unfiltered goodness)! It's got delish cherry, cranberry, strawberry and bready flavours for good measure.
Good things come in small packages: this 500 mL format is perfect for two, whether you’re on the dock looking out over the water or cozied up by the fire.
Lakeview Cellars Viognier 2020 ($19.95)
Viognier isn’t a grape you see very often outside of the southern Rhône, but this one by Lakeview Cellars in Niagara is absolutely divine. Think rich texture, orange blossom, peach and honeysuckle. The perfect pairing for Asian fare!
Redtail Vineyards Pinot Noir 2017 ($24)
One more Redtail for good measure! An elegant expression of cool-climate pinot, light-bodied and smooth, where ripe red fruit and Ontario minerality come out to play on the palate. Stock up on this universal pairing – Thanksgiving is just around the corner…
Remember, none of these wines are available at the LCBO, so this is your chance to get your hands on them!
Sale ends this Sunday. Order soon.

Wow, that email took a lot out of me. Back to bed with me! Talk to you again soon once I’m feeling better.
Enjoy the rest of the week, and happy wining!
P.S. I’m trying out a different mailing format. Please bear with me while I iron out the kinks.
